October 15, 2026
The last free outdoor concert of Downtown Griffin's 2026 season starts at 7 p.m. this Saturday, October 10, at Park at Sixth. Off Ramp plays until 9. The series began in May, and the City of Griffin's listing calls this show the season finale. Downtown keeps going after that. The evening music moves indoors to two addresses, the Griffin Opera House at 102 N. Hill St. and Myrtle's Plot Twist at 209 South 6th Street, and between them they cover every weekend from now until the city hosts its next outdoor event on November 14.
So October and early November downtown work as a handoff. The weekend-by-weekend calendar below shows how it plays out.
ARTober Fest is the city's October 2nd Saturday. The City of Griffin and the Griffin Main Street Program host it, with Hoshizaki America and First National Bank as sponsors. Like every 2nd Saturday, it's free and happens rain or shine. The schedule runs from morning to night:
The Griffin-Spalding Chamber's concert-series page still lists "October 11: Are You Kind" as the last act. October 11 falls on a Sunday this year, and the City's ARTober listing names Off Ramp for Saturday the 10th. Go by the City's listing.
The art walk extends something already on the streets. Downtown Griffin's official page announced on October 6 that hay bale art installations are up. Each bale has a sign about the local artist who made it, and the bales stay on display all month. The 4 to 7 p.m. art walk is when you can meet those artists. The same post says the afternoon will have college football along with the art, music and shop specials.
On South 6th Street, Myrtle's Plot Twist is turning four. It's celebrating all week and plans specials and giveaways during ARTober Fest. Myrtle's describes itself as a bookstore, café and bar with book clubs, children's story time, wine tastings, poetry readings and Friday night live music. Most of downtown's indoor calendar for the rest of the month runs through it.
The indoor half also starts on October 10. That night the Griffin Opera House hosts SKYNFOLKS, billed as The Authentic Lynyrd Skynyrd Experience. That puts two concerts downtown on the same night, one free and outdoors at Park at Sixth and the other at the Opera House on North Hill Street. The Opera House lists its address as 102 N. Hill St., Suite #200.
Once Off Ramp finishes, the outdoor stage at Park at Sixth has nothing scheduled in the sources for the rest of October. The indoor venues fill the calendar instead.

Looking down the table, the Opera House has a show every weekend from October 10 through Halloween, then one more on November 7. Most are tribute acts, and the October run moves through Lynyrd Skynyrd, Journey, the Eagles and Meat Loaf before ending on Halloween night with a Studio 54 tribute. Myrtle's fills the weeknights with two book clubs, a library book club and a poetry night.
Saturday, October 24 is the busiest day on the indoor side. The Tipsy Witches Crawl runs from 4 to 8 p.m., and the second night of On the Border plays the Opera House. The same day, Cemetery Ramble 2026 takes place at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Myrtle's also runs daytime workshops. A Pumpkin Centerpiece Workshop is on its calendar for Wednesday, October 7, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
The evening schedule moves indoors, and the daytime calendar spreads out a little beyond the downtown blocks.
The Griffin Farmer's Market has its next listed date on Friday, October 9, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Kiwanis Fairgrounds, 1025 South Hill Street. The same morning, a Maker's Market featuring local senior artisans runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 885 Memorial Drive. Put those together with Chris Odom's evening set at Myrtle's and the ARTober Fest specials the next morning, and the weekend runs from Friday morning to Saturday night.
UGA Gardens at 129 West Ellis Road hosts Scarecrows in the Garden from October 1 through October 30. On Thursday, October 15, UGA presents its Author Entertainment Series with Judkin Browning at the Bailey-Tebault House.
Downtown Trick-or-Treat falls on Thursday, October 29, according to the City of Griffin's October calendar. That's the night before the Meet Loaf show and two nights before Travolta.
The handoff ends with the next 2nd Saturday. Downtown Griffin's official page has announced the Mistletoe Market for Saturday, November 14, from 4 to 7 p.m. as the start of the holiday season. Holiday vendors will line the sidewalk along Hill Street, participating downtown businesses will hold a Holiday Open House, and the evening includes live music and activities for all ages. Hoshizaki America is the presenting sponsor again. The post also says organizers are still taking vendors who sell holiday gifts, arts and crafts, or specialty foods.
A month later comes the 2026 Hometown Holiday Illuminated Parade, on Saturday, December 12, at 6:30 p.m. The City of Griffin and InSpalding are organizing it, with the Griffin-Spalding Business and Tourism Association, Wellstar Spalding Medical Center and Caterpillar as sponsors. Registration is open now for floats, golf carts, vehicles and walking groups through Eventeny. If your business, club or family wants a float, now is the time to start.
Several new businesses have been announced downtown since August. None has been confirmed open in the sources, so check before you go.
Both the August 2nd Saturday and the September 28 post were used to introduce new businesses. If that continues, ARTober Fest and the Mistletoe Market are the most likely places to see which of these have opened.
At Zotique International Realty, we think the evenings you can walk to are part of a home's value, and in downtown Griffin those evenings change with the season. If you're thinking about how close you want to live to Hill Street, Sixth Street and the Opera House, we'd be glad to talk it through. Work With Us.
